XR20M1280 UARTs with Integrated Level Shifters

MaxLinear XR20M1280 is the industry's fastest UART with a selectable I²C/SPI interface. The XR20M1280 single-channel UARTs with integrated level shifters have a maximum data rate of 24 Mbps with a maximum clock frequency on the SPI interface of 26 MHz. The XRM20M1280 has separate V_CC pins for core, CPU interface, UART signals, and GPIO signals allowing the UART to interface with devices operating at different voltage levels and eliminating the need for external voltage level shifters. The independent TX/RX Baud Rate Generator feature allows the transmitter and receiver to operate at different baud rates. The XR20M1280 has a 16550 compatible register set that provides users with operating status and control, receiver error indications, and modem serial interface controls. An internal loopback capability allows onboard diagnostics. XR16M890 single-channel UARTs can interface with devices operating at different voltage levels, eliminating the need for an external voltage-level shifter. These single-channel UARTs target a variety of portable applications, including smartphones, Bluetooth®, personal digital assistants, GPS systems, and other battery-operated devices.

I²C/SPI UARTs

MaxLinear I²C/SPI UARTs include a simple 2-wire (I²C) or 4-wire (SPI) interface. The I²C/SPI UARTs additionally offer 64bytes or 128bytes of transmit and receive FIFOs. The devices have an operating supply voltage from 1.62V to 3.63V.
